New 24-hour automatic watch from Sturmanskie
The Sturmanskie Heritage Arctic Automatic 24-Hour Reference No. 2431- 6821347
With blue dial!
In 1957 the first Soviet expedition to the North Pole took place - the Sturmanskie Arctic is dedicated to this endeavor.
These robust watches were made to withstand difficult situations and extreme environmental influences.
The appearance and technology of this Sturmanskie Arctic series are based on the first edition from 1957.
This series was created with a lot of manual work and attention to detail and is still used today by polar explorers and the Russian Geographical Society (Russian: "Ру́сское географи́ческое о́бщество" РГО).
In these 24-hour watches, the hour hand rotates around its axis only once a day instead of twice a day - originally such clocks were designed for people who could not tell the difference between the morning and the afternoon from the environment, e.g. Cosmonauts, submarine crews or, as in this case, of course for an expedition to the Arctic!
Stainless steel case with 42mm diameter, 13mm height and 20mm lug width - decorated, screwed back.
To match the original from 1957, this clock is equipped with a slightly curved acrylic glass.
Blue dial, luminous numerals and hands.
3 ATM splash-proof.
The Sturmanskie Arctic is powered by the robust, Russian Vostok automatic caliber 2431 with 32 jewels, 19,800 vibrations, shock protection and a power reserve of approx. 31 hours.
Delivery incl. Black Sturmanskie leather strap, Sturmanskie case and papers.
Additionally including black Nato textile strap from RIOS1931.
