During his historic excursion into space, the cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin had a special watch on his wrist - the legendary Sturmanskie, specially made for this space flight. This Sturmanskie also proved itself in weightlessness.
Sturmanskie has been the official watch supplier for then Soviet and now Russian cosmonauts since 1961.
This new model honors Yuri Gagarin and is based on the original watch from 1961.
High-quality case made of satined stainless steel with 40 mm diameter, 11 mm height, 20 mm lug width and hardened, slightly curved mineral glass.
The back is pressed and shows the limitation number.
Particularly simple retro dial in gray and white with Arabic black numerals and black pointers. Labeled in Cyrillic.
This Gagarin is powered by the tried and tested Poljot manual winding caliber 2609 with 17 jewels, shock protection, 21,600 vibrations and a power reserve of around 40 hours.

The first man and the first watch in space. In 1960 Gagarin was selected as a potential cosmonaut and received appropriate training from March 1960 to January 1961. It was mainly because of his calm temperament that he was selected from the 20 possible candidates to be the first person to leave earth.
On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin was the first person in space. On board the Vostok 1, a person got above the internationally recognized limit of 100 km for the first time. Gagarin took off on board a Vostok spacecraft from the Tyuratam spaceport (today's Baikonur) and landed near the southwestern Russian city of Engels after a complete orbit around the world. The flight is one of the greatest successes of the Soviet space program and is considered a milestone in the space race between the USSR and the United States.
