The new NEVA by Alexander Shorokhoff.
In 2019, Alexander Shorokhov sketched the new model “NEVA” during a business trip to Saint Petersburg. He was inspired by the mighty and most water-rich European river Neva. This is a 74 km long river in Russia, which flows from Lake Ladoga into the Neva Bay of the Baltic Sea, passing through Saint Petersburg. With its 340 bridges and magnificent palaces, the city is called the “Venice of the North”.
From this inspiration, the wavy guilloché of the dial was created. This is transferred to the upper and slightly smaller dial. There, the hour markers are punched out. The lower dial bears the logo “Alexander Shorokhoff”, the minute as well as the second markings. The dial thus looks simple, but still beautiful.
The small curved second hand bears the shape of the letter “N”, referring to the name of the watch as well as the magnificence of the city through its curved shape.
For the movement a Russian caliber 3105.Poljot is used, which is derived from the Swiss Valjoux caliber 7734, but without chronograph function. The movement is completely overhauled, re-oiled, adjusted and tested at the “Alexander Shorokhoff” watch manufacture. The bridges, as always with “Alexander Shorokhoff” watches, are hand-engraved or cloud-cut, and the screws are polished and blued. This beauty can be viewed through the sapphire crystal back. These movements are no longer reproduced today. However, the “Alexander Shorokhoff” watch manufactory has secured a limited quantity and produces this series in a small limited number.
