Just received the German Design Prize 2017

I couldn´t take my eyes of this special   watch "WINTER" ( with 39mm diameter suitable as a women´s or gent´s watch! ) on the watch exhibition "Munichtime"  and I have to take it into my program...

This is the redgold-plated version of the WINTER !

The ALEXANDER SHOROKHOFF WATCHMANUFACTORY presented some of his new creations at the world's largest watch  fair in Basel  2016.                                The "Winter" model from the avantgarde collection is one of them.

This ladies watch ( certainly also suitable as a special watch for men ) is dedicated to nature - the indispensable winter - in calm, harmonious winter colors.

Already at first sight, it is obvious that Alexander Shorokhov's design breaks the traditional and classic watch design. ( as he does quite often, for example the gorgeous Babylonian watch... )

Sparkling, frosty, snow-covered branches extend over the entire dial. This effect is achieved by the use of diamond dust, applied in an innovative and  elaborate process.

Here, a three-dimensional plate with fine depressions is produced first. The fine diamond dust is laid and fixed into these recesses in high precision work.
The thought of "carefully dealing with nature" plays an important role. Only remnants of polished diamonds, which fall off during the processing of the stones, are processed and used for this diamond dust.

Although the dial is occupied by the beautiful branches of the tree over its entire surface, one can easily read the time.
The design works especially with the high-quality blued hands, which are matched and harmonious to the winter colors, but at the same time contrast with the dial with diamond dust occupied.

The central second hand is held in a light blue, thus a connection to the leather band.

A high-quality redgold plated stainless steel case includes the watch.
The screwed-down sapphire glass bottom gives a good view of the "work" of the automatic movement Kal. 2824 ETA with the hand-engraved rotor.

The Winter model from ALEXANDER SHOROKHOFF WATCHMANUFACTUR was nominated by the Jury  of the GDA for the German Design Award 2017.

Case: Stainless steel case redgold plated  with sapphire front glass on one side,  anti - reflective and cambered; sapphire glass watchback ; 5 atm waterproof; Diameter: 39.5 mm; Height 10.6 mm,

Movement: Automatic movement AS.2824 manually decorated . 25 stones. Blued screws. Power reserve 38 hours.
