Precision and elegance with a full calendar and moon phase display.
Date, week, month, moon in second beat!
Alexander Shorokhoff already impressed with his first version of the full calendar called "Merkur", a special watch that shows the date, day of the week and month in addition to the current time.
In contrast to a simple date display that only shows the current date, a full calendar offers a more comprehensive date function. Now the second color variant comes into play and is in no way inferior to the first variant, but some details have changed color. The dial, for example, impresses with a silver-colored appearance that is refined with gold-colored accents and luminous hour markers.
The name "Mercury" was inspired by our planet of the same name in the solar system.
With its cratered surface, reminiscent of the moon, it fits harmoniously into the design image of the new model. The day is indicated by the central red-tipped date hand on the gold-coloured date scale, while the day of the week and month appear at the 12 o'clock position. In addition, the new "Full Calendar Mercury" offers an additional function that displays the current moon phase at 6 o'clock. It shows what the moon looks like in the sky and what phase it is in. This is designed as a representation of the moon as a small disk that slowly moves over the course of a month to show the different phases of the moon such as full moon, half moon, new moon and waning moon. During a full moon, the orange "sphere" appears exactly in the middle of the recess, opposite the mark for 29.5 days that the moon takes to orbit the earth once and go through all its phases.
The moon phase display is an aesthetic and traditional function in many wristwatches and is often integrated into watches for lovers of astronomical details or for watch collectors. The planet Mercury is in close proximity to the sun and is therefore permanently exposed to solar radiation and solar winds.
For this reason, the planet has a yellow-orange shimmer that goes well with the orange glowing moon phase as inspiration. The color selection for the leather strap was also extremely careful.
A genuine crocodile strap with an engraved solid stainless steel pin buckle goes perfectly with the cool dial with warm gold tones and vibrant orange, creating a balanced and appealing color palette.
Inside, the "Full Calendar Merkur" houses the automatic caliber DD9000 from Dubois Depraz, whose hand-engraved and refined rotor embodies the essence of craftsmanship. With its blued screws and the precision of 25 gemstones that adorn the movement, it is a true expression of precision and elegance.
With a limited edition of just 31 pieces, the new model is a true rarity.
Delivery with additional Molnija Milanaise strap , polished stainless steel Nr. 9550.
