Poljot International Tourbillon 3400.XVIII-CS
Adorable & affordable!
A tourbillon is a legend among watches and, alongside the minute repeater (a chime mechanism like a church clock), is considered the most complex complication in the world of mechanical watches!
Abraham-Louis Breguet developed in 1795 this revolutionary mechanism and this had a significant impact on the world of watchmaking ever since. (see below for an explanation of the function of a tourbillon).
This watch is dedicated to this outstanding 18th century (XVIII) with all of its important inventions.
For the XVIII Tourbillon, the 3400.PTS was selected as the appropriate movement, which contains the basic functions such as hour, minute and second, as well as the eye-catching tourbillon cage, which is prominently placed at 6 o'clock.
The seconds are displayed via Poljot-International's innovative "tourbillon bridge", which is designed in the shape of an arrow. The bridges of the movement are decorated with Geneva stripes and adorned with blued screws.
An impressive power reserve when fully wound of 72 hours, means that the watch only needs to be wound every three days.
The simple yet high-quality dial is made of brass that was first brushed with a sunburst finish and then coated in champagne colour. The classically designed hour numerals are placed on the dial as silver applications.
Two blued steel hands indicate the time, with the second being visualized by the arrow on the tourbillon bridge.
Elegant stainless steel case with a diameter of 42 mm - this is slightly smaller than other tourbillons from Poljot-International.
20mm lug width; sapphire crystal and glass bottom made of sapphire crystal!
With a height of just 9.5 mm without top glass and 12.47 mm with domed sapphire crystal, it is perfectly dimensioned and fits almost every wrist.
The three-part case has been refined in two versions: the upper bezel and the base have been polished, while the middle part has been brushed, which creates a high-contrast image from the side and makes the case appear optically flatter.
The hand-wound movement PTS Cal. 3400 has an impressive power reserve of 72 hours!
Limited to only 100 pieces.
Exclusively at Poljot24: we deliver this special watch with an original leather strap and additionally with a Molnija Milanese strap made of polished stainless steel, as well as the high-quality RIOS1931 leather strap Louisiana Crocodile Calf in your desired color (selection above) with a matching butterfly folding clasp! This way you can change the look of the watch as you wish.

Of course, the tourbillon is the eye-catcher on this watch and you can't look at it enough - but what exactly is a tourbillon?
Here is the explanation - source copyright Wikipedia:
"In order to eliminate changes in the position of a pocket watch (and the resulting inaccuracy), Abraham Louis Breguet (1747-1823) invented the tourbillon in 1795. The patent was granted in Paris in 1801, and in the patent specification it is referred to as a "Régulateur à Tourbillon". In this case, the escape wheel, the anchor and the so-called balance are installed on a small plate in a bogie, a cage sitting on the shaft of the seconds wheel. The seconds drive is screwed to the bogie from below and firmly installed on the lower plate. The bogie, in the middle of which the balance swings exactly above the shaft of the seconds wheel, rotates around the screwed-on seconds wheel. The drive of the escape wheel runs on this. So when the seconds wheel rotates once per minute, the tourbillon (the plate) follows this rotation. As a result, position or center of gravity errors no longer occur or are corrected once per minute. (depending on the tourbillon) balanced."
The tourbillon is considered, along with the minute repeater (chime mechanism like a church clock), to be the most complex complication in mechanical watches!
